The lichens and lichenicolous fungi of South Greenland
This list enumerates all lichenized and lichenicolous fungi known from the west coast of South Greenland between 60º10’N and 61º20’N. 744 lichen species and infraspecific taxa, 156 lichenicolous and six allied fungi are treated. Contribution to the knowledge of some poorly known lichens in Poland. III. Trapelia corticola and the genus Vezdaea
New data on four Vezdaea species and Trapelia corticola (lichenized Ascomycota, Lecanoromycetes) are presented for Poland. V. acicularis is reported as new to the country and records of V. retigera are newly published. Further collections of the rare V. stipitata and relatively common V. aestivalis are presented. New localities of Trapelia corticola suggest that the species is locally common in the mountains. Notes on the taxonomy, world distribution and habitat preferences for all species are included. Additionally, Vezdaea aestivalis is reported for the first time for Romania.

Epiphytic lichens and bryophytes as indicators of air pollution in Kyiv city (Ukraine)
The distribution of epiphytic lichens and bryophytes was studied in the built-up area of Kyiv (Ukraine). 65 epiphytic lichen and 20 bryophyte species were found in 272 sampling plots. Three indices (the total number of species, the index of atmospheric purity and the modified index of atmospheric purity) were calculated separately for lichens and bryophytes, and for all epiphytic species. A total of nine indices were quantified. Based on these indices, four zones with different air pollution were distinguished in Kyiv. Indicator species of these zones were proposed and can be used for further monitoring. Indicative value of lichens and bryophytes was compared.

A contribution to the lichen flora of Iceland
A total of 202 taxa of lichens are reported from nine localities in Iceland. 12 lichens are new to Iceland, viz. Acarospora rhizobola, Caloplaca fraudans, Candelariella dispersa, C. terrigena, C. xanthostigma, Lecanora argopholis, L. atromarginata, Lecidella scabra, Lichenomphalia alpina, Rhizocarpon lecanorinum, R. pusillum and Stereocaulon symphycheilum. Geology, climate and vegetation of the investigation area are briefly treated.

Distribution and habitat ecology of the threatened forest lichen Lobaria pulmonaria in Estonia
Lobaria pulmonaria is a widely used as an indicator species of undisturbed old-growth forests ecosystems, but the knowledge about its habitat ecology is still highly fragmented. To quantify the distribution, habitat preference and host tree specificity of Lobaria pulmonaria we utilised data from databases and field surveys in Estonia. The number of L. pulmonaria localities is the highest in the densely forested regions, concentrated mainly in small forest patches defined as ‘ecologically highly valuable’. The species grows mostly on deciduous trees, particularly on aspen (Populus tremula). L. pulmonaria is most common in oligo-mesotrophic boreal, eutrophic boreo-nemoral and in eutrophic paludifying forests, and prefers forests with an average age of trees more than 100 years. In addition, we found that younger stands could be suitable habitats for L. pulmonaria if the structure of the stand is comparable to mature stands. In spite of the many localities of L. pulmonaria in Estonia, the species is still threatened because (1) the rotation period of tree stands is short, (2) it is abundant in forest types which are rare or under strong economic pressure, (3) and it prefers host trees which have a restricted distribution in Estonia or are not favoured in forest management practice.

The lichen genus Ochrolechia in the Baltic countries
Nine Ochrolechia species have been identified in a revision of the genus in the Baltic countries: O. alboflavescens, O. androgyna, O. arborea, O. bahusiensis, O. frigida, O. microstictoides, O. pallescens, O. szatalaensis and O. turneri. O. bahusiensis is reported for the first time for Estonia and Lithuania, the occurrence of O. tartarea in the Baltic countries is doubtful and O. subviridis should be excluded from the Estonian checklist. An identification key for all listed taxa is provided.

New records of lichens and allied fungi from the Eastern Leningrad Region
Thirteen species of lichens and one related fungus are reported as new to the Eastern Leningrad Region. Two of them – Arthonia incarnata and Nephromopsis laureri – are also new to the whole Leningrad Region. One species – Lauderlindsaya acroglypta – is new to North-Western European Russia.

Interesting records of lichens on the coast of Baydaratskaya Bay (Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, Russia)
38 rare or new to certain areas lichen species are recorded from two localities on the coast of Baydaratskaya Bay of the Kara Sea. Micarea lapillicola and Xylographa opegraphella are new for the Arctic; Micarea denigrata and Pycnora leucococca – for the Russian Arctic. 10 species are new for the Polar Ural area of the Arctic; 31 species are new for the Yamal Peninsula.
